About
Hi! My name is Nicholas. I’m an adventure photographer.
Here’s a bit about me.
I started photography back in 2018, with nothing but a Google Pixel and Toyota Prius. Since then I’ve traveled throughout North America while living in my car, honing my skillset in every environment imaginable.
My favorite thing about photography is that it’s a paradox. It’s an escape from reality, but also a subtle investigation of it. Photography forces you to look at the world in a way you’ve never quite imagined it- and in those details, find elements of yourself. Hence my name- Intricate Explorer.
My overarching mission is to explore as much as humanely possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
My go-to setup is a Sony a7rIV with a Sony 24-105 G f/4 lens. I pretty much take this on 90% of adventures, unless it requires a more specialized lens. You can view my full list of equipment by clicking here.

All of my photographs are available for free in high resolution via Unsplash, and my entire knowledge base is free via Explorer University.
I believe in #digitalfreedom. Knowledge and content should be distributed freely across the internet, for all to use in whatever way they deem necessary.
Enjoy.

I’d say 90% of my income comes from food delivery apps (Uber Eats, Doordash, etc.) in various cities across the United States. The other 10% comes from photography gigs, like real estate, events, and portraits via my business website Intricate Media.

The Grand Canyon, as cliche as it sounds, hits me in all the right places. There’s nowhere on Earth that gives me such a profound feeling of awe- every single time I visit.

Yes! One of my good buddies Tyler Howard is a Colorado Springs Wedding DJ. He is an incredible DJ and knows how to get a party rocking. I’d recommend him to anyone getting married, or looking for music at their event. Check out his website to book a session!
